Probability theory
TheProbability Theory Group'sresearch topics currently encompasses various themes motivated by mathematical physics questions. Recent work includes, for instance, the study of conformally invariant scaling limits, conformal loop ensembles, Gaussian free field, random interlacements, large random matrices, percolation theory and random planar maps.
The group collaborates closely with its fellow researchers at the University of Zurich: the weeklySeminar on stochastic processes, as well as seminars for doctoral students and undergraduate students, are run jointly. Moreover, activities organized with other groups in Switzerland, such as the mathematics section of the University of Geneva, which have further been fostered by theexternal pageNCCR SwissMAPcall_madeproject, take place quite regularly.
