Martin Schweizer has been full Professor for Mathematics at ETH Zurich since October 1st, 2003.

Martin Schweizer was born in Zurich on May 3, 1961. He studied mathematics at ETH Zurich where he also wrote his PhD thesis in 1988 with Professor Hans Föllmer. After a three-year stay in Bonn, he obtained his habilitation at the University of Göttingen in 1993. He became professor of mathematics at TU Berlin in 1994 and in 2001 accepted a chair in applied mathematics at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. In Bonn and Berlin, he was also involved in special research programs (SFBs) between mathematics and economics.

The research interests of Martin Schweizer lie in mathematical finance, probability theory and actuarial mathematics, with a particular focus on incomplete financial markets. He is editor of the journal "Finance and Stochastics" and associate editor of "Mathematical Finance", and was associate editor of the "Annals of Applied Probability".
